Powderex offers a wide variety of sizes, addressing all drive requirements with torque ranging from 3 Nm to 170 Nm. It is available in a standard version, or with a radiator or fan for high-power needs.
The brake’s electromagnetic coil generates a controlled, variable magnetic field, which adjusts the viscosity of the magnetic powder to manage torque transmission between the internal and external rotors.
Powderex brakes and clutches are simple to install on any converting machine.
When the external rotor is fixed, the device functions as a brake, otherwise it operates as a clutch.
